This video “Thinkorswim Display Name of Saved Chart” demonstrates how to install the custom study, apply it to your charts, and use it to place the name of your saved chart layouts on your charts. If you are not a frequent user of Thinkorswim you likely don’t realize there is a significant deficiency when trying to keep track of your saved chart layouts. Everyone I talk to is aggravated by this. So I’ve come up with a solution. Works for Windows and Mac versions.

How it Works
After installing this custom study you then open up one of your saved chart layouts. Select one of your charts and add the custom study to it. Then access the custom study’s parameters where you can enter the name of your chart layout. You can also change the display color. The study then places a chart label in the upper left corner of your chart and will display the text you entered in the parameters. Once this part is completed you merely have to re-save your chart layout and the text for that label is saved along with your chart layout. That’s it. Just repeat the process for every single chart layout you have saved. This works for both the Chart Grid and Flexible Grid screens of Thinkorswim.

I saved the google drive to my download folder but when I click the file it does not open. Can you help guide me in the proper steps to open the Chart Name study so I can successfully create the study in my TOS ?
The instructions are included within the video. In fact for users that are having difficulty working with the Study files and importing them into Thinkorswim, this is the exact video I give them for instructions. So I’m pretty sure you did not watch the entire video.
