video is about to blow your mind. Did you know you can display the trade history of an individual option contract in a chart, just like Socks, Futures and Forex? This video shows you how to enter and manage a trade for individual options contracts using the D.O.M. (Depth Of Market). Thinkorswim refers to this as “Active Trader”. Futures traders love using the D.O.M. to enter and manage their day trades. Now you can follow along using fixed risk and much lower capital requirements. Easily manage bracket orders using drag and drop to modify orders. Set up OSO orders to automatically add stop and limit orders to your position. This is like “Training wheels for futures trading”. Thinkorswim Options Trading Tutorial is the video that will explain it all with very easy to follow step by step instructions.

Dear Hans, Is there a easier way to identify the options we currently traded are in the money (ITM) in the activity statement in TOS?

    Thanks

Delta seems to be the easiest way to identify ITM vs OTM options. A delta greater than 0.5 will be ITM while less than 0.5 will be OTM. There are two columns you can add to the Active and Positions tab of the Monitor view. One is Delta and the other is OptionDelta.

Would it be possible to easily plot the price graph of an option combo, say a calendar spread or an iron condor?

    • Pete Hahn Post author

However it is possible to plot a vertical spread. Take this as an example: .AAPL200619C310 – .AAPL200619C315
Enter that as the ticker symbol of any chart and it will display the historical prices for that vertical spread. Simple math, subtracting one ticker symbol from the other.

I would like a template of the above layout (Thinkorswim Options Trading Tutorial). How would I go about requesting it? Thanks.

Hi,Pete is there any way I can purchase from you the code for the options charts setup ? It’ll be very helpful for me to be able to absolutely see the option’s price In relation to the price level I would like to enter.
Thank you very much for being so helpful to the community.

Sorry but there is no code used to create anything you see in this video. Its nothing more than setting up the grid using the existing tools.
