Color bar alert based on MTF MACD indicator

Hi Pete. Your work is amazing and I love the website! I recently came across your tutorial on creating a MTC MACD indicator. I’ve been using it and it works very well. Are you able to assist me with creating an alert that occurs when the first green or red bar has closed to a specific FX pair? I’ve watched your tutorial on Condition Wizard (among others) but I suppose I’m a little slow on the process of how to apply the correct script/terms. Below is a link to the article you’ve posted .  Thank you.

The original version of the MTF MACD study is not suitable for including alerts. Which is why alerts were not included. The signals from the original version are able to repaint. So if you want to generate alerts use the second version which was also built into a chart strategy for back-testing. Both the chart study as well as the chart strategy were published with this video:

The chart study version includes alerts.

Amazing! Clear and concise tutorial as well. Is there a way to apply version 2 to study alerts so I receive mobile/email notification when an arrow closes? When I try, I receive the message "rec usage is not allowed in this context".

Ya know what? I'm certain the answer is here somewhere so I'll keep poking around on TOS using the amazing tutorials you've already listed on your site. Thank you!

MTF code cannot be used in Study Alerts. The only way to achieve this is to build a MTF MACD Scan: https://www.hahn-tech.com/thinkorswim-mtf-macd-scan/

Then learn how to create a dynamic alert from a saved custom scan: https://www.hahn-tech.com/thinkorswim-overnight-range-scan-alert/

The dynamic alert demonstration begins at the 29:50 mark of that last video I linked
