1m EMA on a 5m chart

Hi Peter,

I am trying but having difficulties setting up a 1m EMA line on a 5m chart.

 

Can you help me with this?

There is a perfectly good reason you are having difficulties with this. Because it is completely impossible to do what you have described.

Secondary aggregations (also known as multiple time frames) only work in one direction.

It is only p0ssible to plot data from the higher time frame onto a chart set to a lower or equal time frame.

Think about it. For each bar on the 5 min chart, the code would need to plot 5 different values. One for each bar on the 1 min time frame. Understand that? Each 5 min bar is made up of five individual 1 min bars. Which means the 5 min chart is a summary of the 1 min chart. It is not possible to reverse that summary and plot details from the lower time frame on the higher time frame chart.

I tried to state this a few different ways to make sure the issue is clearly understood.
