CCI but with share price needed for CCI to cross “zero line”

Hello Mr. Hanh.

I was wondering is it possible to have a normal CCI 14 (that can be hidden) but somehow have it post the “share price” on the chart that would needed for the CCI to cross the “zero line.”

I am not sure if such a thing is possible but I thought asking you would be best.  Thanks in advance!

You have helped me before so I went ahead and made a voluntary contribution for your assistance. Thanks.

That is interesting. Thinkorswim has a couple of built-in studies that do something similar, but with different studies. One is the ReverseEngineeringRSI and the other is ReverseEngineeringMACD. I’ll take a look at the RSI version and see if there is a quick and easy way to plug the CCI into it.

Yup, that’s exactly what I am seeking. The ReverseEngineeringRSI concept but with with the CCI. Thanks for looking into this.

Well I spent enough time at this trying to figure it out and came up blank. If you can find this in another platform I would love to take a look at the code used to create it. One major hurdle I find is the CCI does not use the close of the bar for it’s calculation. The CCI uses the Close + Low + High as it’s starting point for calculations. This tells me that we can’t really back this out to know when the close of the bar is going to cause the CCI to cross any given level. Best could be accomplished perhaps. Is to arrive at an average of the Close + Low + High required for the CCI to cross a particular level. A rough guesstimate may be all that is possible.

At any rate. The math is beyond me. My brain loves to code but hates to even think about math.
