Limit order at current price of specified day and time

Hi Pete,

On Fridays I open a position near end of day and close it manually at market open Monday morning (with a limit order at current price).

To automate this I know I can setup an advanced order condition that will “Submit at” the day and time I want but I don’t know how to make the order a limit order at the current price at that time.

If this is possible, can you offer guidance?

Thanks

This is a question which is best handled by the trade desk at TD Ameritrade/Schwab. There is no custom script which can help you here. And this forum is all about custom script solutions.

If you want an order to execute at a specified date and time, at the current price, why not just use a market order instead of a limit order? The only reason you would forced to use a limit order is if your order was to execute during the extended trading session. Since your specific example is to execute the order at market open, it seems to me the logical choice would be to use a market order instead of a limit order.

Appreciate the sanity check Pete. I guess I've been so conditioned to avoid the dreaded market order that I overlooked a use case for it... problem solved!
