stocks crossing above StandardDevChannel upper line

Hi Pete

TOS has a built in Study called the StandardDevChannel. I’m trying to build a scan that will find stocks which have crossed above the highest line in the StandardDevChannel. The scan needs to detect this crossing above the highest line at the 1y:1D and 1y:W.

Let me know if you already have something similar. I didn’t see anything here which mirrored the StandardDevChannel.

Thanks

I updated the title so that it actually describes the context of your question.

This study is already included as a built-in scan that you can select when building a scan in Thinkorswim.

Two screenshots attached.

Thanks for the reply Pete! But the scan is not accurate for example ran this scan today and it caught MCD above the upper Channel. But it failed to find WBA, CI or FAZ which also have been above the upper channel for 2-3 days. How do I zero in on stocks which have crossed this upper channel within the last 3 days accurately.

Thanks

What settings did you use for both the scan and the chart? If using intraday time frame on the chart, did you make sure to uncheck the option to start aggregation at market open?

When using the StandardDevChannel study I stick with its defaults and all other default scan options are deleted. I will then select the option to scan All Stocks and specify Weekly’s. On my charts I use the StandardDevChannel but see not option uncheck start aggregation at market open.

“uncheck start aggregation at market open” That is a chart setting. Not a study setting. The StandardDevChannel has two settings that will be crucial for you to get the scan aligned with the chart.
1. Full Range: set to NO
2. Length: set to same value as used for the scan

If you leave everything as default it is never going to work.
