Hey Pete! I’m trying to add a “Study Filter” to find Low Float Stocks in a scan query. Tos has a “shares” number filter, but I want to find available shares for trading not just outstanding shares. Thanks!

A quick search of our FAQ’s reveals we have already answered this question. Here: https://www.hahn-tech.com/ans/is-there-a-way-to-plot-or-display-the-current-float-of-a-stock/
The short answer is that at this time Thinkorswim does not provide data for such a scan. They just recently added a number of fundamental components to the scan engine. But when I reviewed them I did not find one that would solve this question. Stay tuned, because if and when they do provide this metric, we’ll be updating these posts to reflect the new functionality.

Ok thanks! Do they have insider shares as part of their search engine? Since they have ”all shares”, could we deduct the insider shares?

No, I see per share filters but I see nothing that covers actual number of shares, whether insider, institution, or public. Be sure to contact TD Ameritrade support and ask them to add these!
