Custom Scan – IV Rank

I have this chart indicator that I would like to turn into a scan. Based on your previous answer I changed the “Plot” to “Def” and removed references to colors. But when I run Scan the screen is blank and no stocks show up. I am looking to add a Scan parameter like “If IV Rank is above 25 and Volume is above 100,000”. Thank you for your help.

Since you did not provide any code I am not able to explain how to get that scan up and running. Please be sure not to post any code that is covered under copyright, or is otherwise someone else’s intellectual property. Before posting the code, be sure to check our premium indicator that covers this very topic. https://www.hahn-tech.com/thinkorswim-implied-volatility-percentile/

I’m sure you will find it does what you need, and more. The price is very affordable.

The code that was provided is similar to what was previously posted here: https://www.hahn-tech.com/ans/how-can-i-take-this-iv-rank-study-and-use-it-to-scan/

Be sure to use the search function to make sure you topic hasn’t already been answered.

Having examined the code (sent to me via email), I have some bad news for you. That code is lacking one special trick I use in my code to account for gaps in Implied Volatility. See attached two screenshots below. Each contains three lower studies.

  1. Standard ImpVolatility indicator
  2. The Hahn-Tech Implied Volatility Percentile
  3. The version submitted by the originator of this post

Comments are included with each screenshot showing the problem.
